German Language Induction Program Organised at GHRU, Amravati
The Language Club of G H Raisoni University, Amravati, successfully conducted a two-day German Language Induction Program for first-year students on 2nd and 3rd July 2026. Organised as a part of the induction programme, the sessions aimed to introduce students to the importance of learning foreign languages while creating enthusiasm for developing global communication skills. The programme provided students with an engaging introduction to the German language and culture, encouraging them to explore new linguistic opportunities.
Objectives of the Programme
The induction programme was organised with the following objectives:
· To introduce students to one of the world's most widely spoken European languages.
· To develop foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking German.
· To encourage linguistic diversity and multilingual learning.
· To provide exposure to the culture, traditions, and lifestyle of Germany and other German-speaking countries.
· To inspire students to pursue foreign language learning for academic, professional, and personal growth.
Day 1: Introduction to the German Language
The programme commenced with an introduction to the Language Club and its various activities. Students were familiarised with the German alphabet, pronunciation, and phonetics. Special emphasis was placed on mastering the unique sounds of the German language through guided pronunciation exercises.
An interactive self-introduction session enabled students to learn simple German sentences for introducing themselves. Individual and group practice activities helped students improve their pronunciation, build confidence, and actively participate in the learning process. The engaging teaching approach generated great enthusiasm among the participants.
Day 2: Greetings and Numbers
The second day focused on developing basic conversational skills. Students learned common German greetings, polite expressions, and everyday conversational phrases. They were also introduced to German numbers, along with pronunciation practice and classroom exercises.
The sessions included interactive question-and-answer activities, repetition drills, speaking exercises, and group participation, allowing students to reinforce their learning in an enjoyable environment. Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and showed noticeable improvement in their confidence and pronunciation.
Learning Outcomes
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion on the advantages of learning German, including opportunities in higher education, international careers, cultural exchange programmes, and global communication.
