Chess Competition Organised at GHRCEM, Jalgaon

Chess, often regarded as the “game of intellect and strategy,” is one of the most popular indoor mind sports, enhancing logical thinking, concentration, planning ability, and decision-making skills. It encourages players to think ahead, analyze possibilities, and develop patience and discipline. The Sports Club consistently promotes such activities to improve students’ cognitive abilities while fostering a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.

With this objective, the Sports Club organized a Chess Competition on March 7, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who demonstrated great interest and passion for the game.

The competition was conducted in a knockout format, where players competed in multiple rounds to advance to the next stage. Each match required participants to carefully plan their moves, anticipate their opponent’s strategy, and make quick decisions under pressure. The competition created an engaging environment filled with excitement and intellectual challenge. After several competitive rounds, the top winners were declared based on their performance.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Dhanesh S. Patil, Prof. Deepak Khadse (Faculty Coordinators), and Mr. Sagar Sonawane (Physical Director), with valuable support from student coordinators Mr. Mayor Patil and Ms. Nivedika Jayswal, who ensured the smooth planning and execution of the event.
